Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has promised to sign a new striker before the end of the transfer window, according to reports from the Mirror.
Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for a new striker this month, with West Bromwich Albion star Saido Berahino their number one priority.
However, they have had a bid of £15million for Berahino rejected by the Baggies, with the Midlands club demanding at least £25million for the England U-21 forward.

The Lilywhites are therefore ready to turn to adequate alternatives for Berahino, with Pochettino revealing that it is essential the club sign a striker to ease the load off star man Harry Kane.
He said: “Will he benefit from another striker coming? Yes. Always, it is important for us.
“We have players like Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela, and now Clinton N’Jie, who can play like a striker, but I think we need one more striker, to be sure, for different games – sometimes to play together.
“It’s obvious we need one more offensive player. We have confidence we will bring in some offensive player, but I can’t give the name today.
“More than one target? Yes. If you have one and you fail, you are dead.”
Tottenham are keeping an eye on the likes of Queens Park Rangers ace Charlie Austin and Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez as options, but at least have a deal for young former Lyon attacker Clinton N’jie completed.
Tottenham have only managed to gain one point from their first two games, losing Manchester United 1-0 before blowing a two goal lead to tie Stoke City 2-2.
