Manchester City remain the only Premier League club yet to sign a player this summer and boss Roberto Mancini has become frustrated with the club’s transfer policy.
Mancini, who has recently signed a new long term deal at the Etihad Stadium, has given up on the signing of Arsenal striker Robin van Persie and has put pressure on sporting director Brian Marewood to add to the current squad.
The Premier League champions kick off their season with the Charity Shield at Villa Park on Sunday against Chelsea, who coincidentally have added plenty of talent to their Champions League winning side, and Mancini decided to voice his concerns to the media this week.
“We only have 20 days to the end of the market and I don’t think that we have any chance for him (van Persie)” he said.
“I am not happy – but I don’t know what to say.
“You need to ask Brian Marwood,” he added. “I am not the sporting director. I can’t say anything about players.”
