On Tuesday afternoon, Everton posted an injury update on their official Twitter account, with Jean-Philippe Gbamin facing a spell on the sidelines.
The 23-year-old featured in Everton’s first two Premier League games of the season but missed the defeat to Aston Villa on Friday night after picking up an injury in training.
The statement on Everton’s Twitter account has revealed that Gbamin has ‘sustained a tendon injury in his right quadriceps muscle’.
The summer arrival is therefore facing ‘at least eight weeks’ on the sidelines.
It is far from ideal at this stage of the campaign, particularly when considering that the Toffees are also missing another new signing in the shape of Fabian Delph.
Meanwhile, the club’s supporters are not exactly in the best of spirits at the moment following the disappointing loss at Villa Park last week.
