Arsenal have broken their transfer record with the latest acquisition of Nicolas Pepe, with the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international completing the paperwork on his move on Thursday.
Pepe, who netted 22 times in Ligue 1 last season, joins the squad for a reported fee of £72m, if BBC Sport are to be believed.

The prolific forward has been one of the most sought-after young superstars in all of Europe as of late, and the Gunners managed to fend off the opposition and secure the signing.
And already the new no.19 has many excited about the future, and Arsenal icon Ian Wright is definitely one of those people.

Among other things, Wright mentions Pepe’s strengths and calls him a “world-class” player.
And it everything goes well, we won’t have to wait long until the 24-year-old’s maiden performance for Arsenal.
The Gunners will play Barcelona on 4 August and maybe we’ll see Pepe in action at the Camp Nou.
What a debut that would be.
