Alvaro Morata could reportedly be unavailable for Atletico Madrid’s upcoming Champions League last-16 first leg against Liverpool.
Cadena Cope, via Mundo Deportivo, have suggested that the Spaniard could miss out in Madrid on February 18 with the muscular injury that he picked up in Saturday afternoon’s La Liga clash with Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old has been in decent form for Diego Simeone’s side this season, scoring 10 times in 26 appearances in all competitions.

However, the Liverpool supporters do not believe that it would be much of a blow for Atletico if the striker was not available, claiming it might actually help the Spanish outfit.
Morata only managed 24 goals in his 72 appearances for Chelsea, whilst he has never actually scored against Liverpool.

Meanwhile, some of the Liverpool fans feel that Morata’s potential absence could see Atletico take an even more defensive approach to the match.
The fact that Diego Costa is also on the sidelines with a neck injury means that the capital giants cannot really afford to pick up another issue in the final third.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing this player from Manchester United.
