Spanish goalkeeper De Gea once played alongside Antony at Old Trafford. They spent a season together in England during the 2022-23 campaign – meaning that they lined up against one another on a regular basis in training.

De Gea was allowed to leave Manchester as a free agent in the summer of 2023, while Antony was loaned out to Real Betis in the winter transfer window of 2025 after struggling for a spark across 96 appearances for the Red Devils that delivered just 12 goals.
